Roadtrip 2022 Spring: Seaside - Bend - Boise - Park City - Grand Junction - Park City - Boise - Richland

Day 18 - Park City to Grand Junction

We're weirdly back in that strip mall with the green-and-white logo chain coffee shop - but - at the other end is Park City Roasters. Real coffee. We got some of their Yemen single-origin wild. mmmmMMMMMmmmm.

What more do you need for your road side stop over? Funky motel - gas - cbd oil - quickie loans - 7 eleven - Wendy's - all sleeping together.

Strawberry reservoir in a "between" state - from winter to spring. Yup - that's ice on that there water surface.

The Black Helicopters are still hanging around, watching us. Today, they have their auto-focus jammers on for some reason, so only blurry pictures of them today. Usually, they only use the jammers when I'm photographing Bigfoot, so I'm not sure what the big deal is today.

"Ooops" doesn't quite cover it. I hope everyone is ok.

This town Gusher has clearly stopped gushin'.

There's another 40 for sale across the street.

The other 40.

This time it's an army green helicopter hovering beside and tracking our every move.

When in Vernal - you must be greeted by the very friendly and very enormous town dino. Her name is Susie and she has massive eyelashes.

It's not all that uncommon these days to find the presence of 2 very different US flags.

Seems Canadians aren't the only ones disillusioned by politicians.

We're definitely in the land of the plastic dinos.

Wouldn't expect any less in a town called Dinosaur.

We finally got a chance to examine these purple flowers close up. There are massive purple fields everywhere.

We may have to make a long drive back here from Grand Junction - there are pictographs in them thar hills.

It's too late in the day to try to cross the canyon to that panel over there, but I can make out some of the pictograms from here.

Apparently, there are carrot-people and a Kokopelli on the walls of the canyon. We've never seen a real Kokopelli.

At the high point of this year's trip, about 8200 ft, the last avalanche of the season waves us through.

Fruita welcomes us - not sure why we're still on the dino theme here. Just a few more clicks to Grand Junction. That's the airstream reclamation project underway in the parking lot.
